Landing page FAQ

What authors ask before they create their first page, or sell their first book, with BookSparker.

Five things, one per kind of page: collect an email and deliver a free book, hand a book over with no email, deliver ARCs only to people on your list, link to every store, or sell the ebook directly. Each page gets its own address under booksparker.com/book/ and works on any screen.

You connect your own Stripe account and make a Payment Link for the book there, then put the book on sale in BookSparker. A reader clicks Buy, pays on Stripe's checkout and gets an email and a page with the book straight away: they can download it, send it to their Kindle or read it in the browser.

BookSparker takes 0%. Stripe charges its usual card fees plus 3.5% for Managed Payments on each sale. Selling is part of the Growing Author and Pro Author plans.

To sell, yes. You connect your own, so if you don't have one yet, create it at Stripe first. The first time takes a short setup in Stripe, which our guide walks you through. Giving books away and sending ARCs don't need Stripe at all.

Stripe does. With Managed Payments, Stripe is the seller of record: it handles the sales tax and VAT on each sale, along with refunds and payment disputes. A full refund or a lost dispute ends that buyer's access to the book.

Stripe Managed Payments takes sellers based in the US, Canada, the UK, most of Europe, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore. BookSparker tells you when you connect if your account can't sell yet.

Generally yes. Stripe doesn't allow pornography or erotica made mainly for sexual gratification, but romance with sex scenes as part of the story is generally fine.

No. KDP Select asks for the ebook to be exclusive to Amazon while it's enrolled, so selling it here would break that. You confirm this when you put a book on sale.

Not through BookSparker: selling is for ebooks, and BookSparker doesn't deliver audiobooks. For print, point a Universal Book Link or your site's buy button at the shop that sells it.

For reader magnets, ARCs and selling ebooks directly, yes, with a free plan to start and your files converted for you. BookFunnel leads on audiobooks, and its direct-sales delivery has been running for years. The same BookSparker account also has newsletter swaps, group promos and a free author website.

100 a month on the free plan, 7,500 on Growing Author and unlimited on Pro Author. We email you when readers have used 80% of a month's downloads, and again at the limit. Books you sell don't count.
